Let’s mix it up a little bit with our polls...
Especially since this is a topic with a looming deadline...
Relief pitcher Andrew Chafin was acquired by the Texas Rangers from the Detroit Tigers at the trade deadline. There is a $6.5 million team option for 2025 in his contract, with a $500,000 buyout. Thus, the Rangers can either pay him $6.5 million in 2025 and keep him, or pay him $500,000 now and have him become a free agent.
The deadline for exercising the option is Monday, November 4 — five days after the completion of the World Series.
