'Opportunity after opportunity': Rangers drop another series-opener after 9th inning miscues vs. Oakland

ARLINGTON -- Of course, the Rangers' 5-3 loss to Oakland Friday ended with Elvis Andrus hitting into a bases-loaded double play.

"It was pretty frustrating," manager Chris Woodward, crediting his team's pitching. "Overall we had a ton of opportunities. ... There was opportunity after opportunity."

Instead of moving a season-high five games over .500, the Rangers dropped their fourth straight series opener and lost for the 14th time in 16 games against the A's.

Marcus Semen's two-out ninth-inning home run off Jose Leclerc was the difference after former Ranger Jurickson Profar sent a flare down the third-base line for a double.
