Texas Rangers outfielder Nomar Mazara left tonight’s game against the Anaheim Angels in the top of the third inning due to left oblique tightness. Mazara was examined by the trainers after reaching on an error in the first inning, but stayed in the game at that time. H was replaced in the lineup by Willie Calhoun.
The Rangers called up Scott Heineman today, giving them a four man bench, but with a doubleheader tomorrow and a string of lefties coming up, the Rangers would seem likely to put Mazara on the injured list tomorrow, which would allow them to potentially get a fresh arm up in the bullpen tomorrow, or bring up an extra position player.
