M’s fire Servais, Angels extend Minasian

Two separate announcements involving off-field personnel decisions involving a pair of the Rangers’ A.L. West rivals have come down today, as the Seattle Mariners have announced they have fired manager Scott Servais, while the Anaheim Angels have announced that they have extended the contract of general manager Perry Minasian. The Mariners have also fired hitting coach Jarret DeHart, who had an expanded role after the Mariners fired bench coach and offensive coordinator Brant Brown on May 31.

Servais joined the Texas Rangers’ front office after his playing days were over, and was part of the inner circle around Jon Daniels from 2004-10.
