Joey Gallo thought he was just going to be playing a few video games against some players from around the league for charity and it wouldn’t be a big deal. Then MLB made a whole website about it, put it on MLB Network, Twitter, Instagram, and sent it out to make the rounds via the Associated Press. Vegas put out odds, so you know it’s a big deal.
With no real baseball on the horizon, this was going to be the next best thing and now Gallo was feeling the nerves of actual competition that people — and *gasp* fans — would be watching.
