MLB Rumors: David Robertson and the Philadelphia Phillies have agreed on a 2 year, $21 million deal with a 2021 club option for $12 million and a $2 million buyout. The free agent relief pitcher was expected to get a deal somewhere in that range.
The Phillies have been rumored to be active in seeking out pitching, both starting and relief, and in landing the 33 year old righthanded Robertson, they’ve picked up one of the better relievers in free agency. Robertson was originally drafted by the New York Yankees in the 17th round in 2006, and after having success with them, signed as a free agent with the Chicago White Sox.
