Earlier this offseason, Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels broached the idea of transitioning Matt Bush from a reliever to a starter. Now, it appears that plan is no longer being considered -- at least for now.
"[I'm] never going to take it totally off the table, if circumstances dictate," Daniels told Jeff Wilson of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. "We plan on taking him to camp as a reliever."
Bush excelled in the bullpen after making his major league debut last season. The 30-year-old right-hander posted a 2.48 ERA in 58 appearances, striking out 61 in 61 2/3 innings.
