ARLINGTON -- One of the more important objectives the Rangers can achieve by the end of the season is to be convinced that Mike Minor has made a successful transition back to being a starting pitcher.
Minor made his most convincing argument yet on Wednesday night when he took a perfect game into the seventh inning against the Padres. The left-hander retired 19 straight batters before Eric Hosmer singled, but he still gave the Rangers seven scoreless in a 5-2 victory at Globe Life Park.
Hosmer was the only baserunner the Padres got against Minor.
