Infielder Esteban Mejia has been named the Arizona Complex League Player of the Week for the week of May 6-12, it was announced today.
The 19 year old was 10 for 15 in the week with six doubles and three walks, putting up a ridiculous .667/.722/1.067 slash line in 18 plate appearances. Adding in his 3 for 5, one home run game from the week prior, Mejia is slashing .650/.696/1.100 in 23 plate appearances over 6 games in the ACL this year.
Mejia was originally signed out of the Dominican Republic by the Rangers for $72,500 as part of the 2022 international free agent class.
