SEATTLE -- Max Scherzer could rejoin the Texas Rangers' rotation if all goes well with his final rehab start in the minors, manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday.

Scherzer, a three-time Cy Young Award winner, was scheduled to start Saturday night for Triple-A Round Rock. He was limited to about 75 pitches, but the hope was it would be his last stint in the minors, according to Bochy.

Scherzer made his second rehab start for Round Rock last Sunday and retired 12 of 14 batters.
