Martin robs Teixeira with leaping catch at wall

ARLINGTON -- Rangers center fielder Leonys Martin is sure to be seen on highlight reels everywhere after his second-inning catch Monday against the Yankees.

With the game tied at 0, Mark Teixeira hit a towering fly ball to left-center-field off Rangers starter Matt Harrison, but Martin ran over and was able to put one hand on the wall to aid his leap while still in motion. He snagged Teixeira's ball near the top of the wall, turning a possible home run into an out.

Martin, who started with the Rangers giving Delino DeShields a day out of the lineup, also hit an RBI single and stole a base in the bottom half of the second as the Rangers took a 2-0 lead.
