The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded infielder Gavin Lux to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for minor league outfielder Mike Sirota and a competitive balance draft pick in 2025 that is #37 overall.
The 27 year old Lux was the Dodgers’ first round pick in 2016, and was a consensus top 5 prospect in all of MLB heading into the 2020 season. He struggled to hit much until 2022, when Lux put up a 745 OPS in 471 plate appearances while playing second base and some left field.
Lux was slated to take over at shortstop for the departed Trea Turner in 2023, but ended up missing the entire season due to a torn ACL.
