Texas Rangers relief pitcher Luke Farrell was hit in the face by a line drive in today’s spring training game. Farrell went down upon being hit, and had to leave the game with assistance. Farrell was taken to the hospital.
The incident occurred with one out in the ninth inning in a game that ended in a 0-0 tie. Taylor Guerrieri replaced the 27 year old righthander, who was claimed on waivers by the Rangers in January.
When we know more about Farrell’s condition we will provide an update.
