ARLINGTON -- Reliever Jose Leclerc has been one of the key bright spots in the bullpen for the Rangers in the midst of a rebuilding season, and manager Jeff Banister still recognizes what a turnaround season it has been for the 24-year-old.
There were stretches where Leclerc struggled last season, especially last September, when he had a 6.75 ERA and walked six batters in five appearances. Banister admits that there was uncertainty about whether Leclerc could handle a late-inning role.
"There were some questions going into the offseason last year, and even going into Spring Training," Banister said.
