NEW YORK -- The final two months of the season will be a fact-finding mission for the Rangers to determine what pitching to cast off and what to count on for 2019.
Saturday's update:
-- Drew Hutchison was better.
-- Chris Martin not so much.
Hutchison, trying to re-start his career after two-plus seasons of drifting, pitched the Rangers into the sixth inning Saturday against the notable slugging gang of New York. Martin, pitching in a late-inning, high-leverage situation for the second time since the bullpen was churned at the trade deadline, was slugged in a 5-3 loss.
