Langford to i.l. with oblique strain

Related Topics: Wyatt Langford, Jonathan Ornelas

The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the injured list with a right oblique strain, the team announced today. To take his place on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled Ezequiel Duran from AAA Round Rock. In addition, the Rangers announced they have optioned Jonathan Ornelas to AAA Round Rock and have recalled outfielder Dustin Harris.

This is a bummer, though the silver lining is that the reports indicate the strain is mild, and Langford felt good today. He apparently has had it flare up on him a couple of times in recent days, and the Rangers apparently want him to take the time to get fully healthy rather than have it be a nagging issue that could linger or, worse, turn into a more serious strain that would result in a longer stint on the injured list.
