The Texas Rangers have placed outfielder Wyatt Langford on the 10 day injured list with a strained hamstring, the team announced today. To take his place on the active roster, the Rangers have recalled infielder Jonathan Ornelas from AAA Round Rock.
Bruce Bochy said yesterday that Langford would be out 3-4 weeks, so the question was simply who was going to be called up to take Langford’s spot on the active roster today. There were only three position players who were 1) in the minors, and 2) on the 40 man roster — Ornelas, Sam Huff and Dustin Harris.
