Jurickson Profar trade is unlikely to reverse the slump Rangers GM Jon Daniels finds himself in

If you feel like Rangers general manager Jon Daniels has been on a bad run since shipping the farm system to Philadelphia and Milwaukee for Cole Hamels and Jonathan Lucroy, you're not wrong. It's unlikely that this trend will be reversed by sending Jurickson Profar, one of the team's best players and arguably its very best player, to a loaded division rival.

Dealing established hitting for potential pitching is as risky as the trade business gets. I understand why Daniels believes it had to be done. The Rangers' rotation and top-end minor-league pitching depth is a joke.
