Texas Rangers outfielder J.P. Martinez had a huge game on Monday for the Surprise Saguaros in Arizona Fall League action, registering a cycle while going 4 for 4 with a walk. Martinez completed the cycle in dramatic fashion, doubling with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to pick up the final leg.
Martinez, 22, was signed to a $2.7M bonus earlier in 2018 as an international free agent out of Cuba. He split the season between the Dominican Summer League and the Northwest League. Martinez is seen as a plus—plus runner who is a solid defensive center fielder, but who has some scouts questioning how well his hit tool will play at upper levels.
