Texas Rangers third baseman Josh Jung will be placed on the injured list due to ongoing soreness in his surgically repaired hand, per reports. With just six games to go, this will end his 2024 season.
It has been a disappointing year for Jung, who was hit on the hand by a pitch in the fourth game of the year. The resulting fracture was initially expected to cost Jung 4-6 weeks, though after surgery it was announced it would be more like 10-12 weeks. Jung started a rehab assignment in mid-June but was shut down after four games due to ongoing soreness.
