Texas Rangers starting pitcher Jon Gray suffered a fractured right wrist on a comebacker in his start yesterday, and will miss significant time, the team announced after yesterday’s game.
This is a further blow to a starting rotation that was already going to be without Cody Bradford to start the year. Jack Leiter, who has had a strong spring, and Kumar Rocker, who has not had a strong spring, would seem to be the lead candidates to fill in for Bradford and Gray to start the year. Dane Dunning, expected to be a swingman in the bullpen, could also be a rotation candidate, and Adrian Houser, in camp as a non-roster invitee, has also been mentioned as a possibility.
