John King just keeps dealing

John King keeps on rolling for Down East. The 24 year old lefthanded pitcher is in the midst of a breakout season, and has another quality outing in an afternoon game today for the Wood Ducks. King went 5 IP, allowing 2 unearned runs on 5 hits and a walk, striking out 6. His ERA is now down to 1.07 in 42 IP for Down East, after starting the year at Hickory, and you have to wonder if he will be following Jason Baur to Frisco soon.

For Hickory, the bats were the story today. Miguel Aparicio was 2 for 4, Pedro Gonzalez had a walk, a single and a home run, and Matt Whatley had a double and two walks.
