Joey Gallo exits Rangers game early with sprained left ankle

The Texas Rangers played another historically hot ballgame at Globe Life Park on Sunday afternoon against the Cleveland Indians.

The Rangers avoided a sweep, but outfielder Joey Gallo didn't make it the full nine innings. Gallo sprained his left ankle after landing awkwardly on first base while attempting to beat out a ground ball in the sixth inning. He remained in the game until he was removed in the top of the eighth inning.

Gallo was replaced by Ryan Rua.

In the bottom of the eighth inning, Rua hit his sixth home run of the year off of Cleveland pitcher Neil Ramirez.
