The New York Mets and free agent infielder Jed Lowrie have reportedly agreed to a two year, $20 million contract, per multiple folks on Twitter.
Lowrie, 35, is coming off his two best seasons, as he put up a .272/.356/.448 in 2017-18 as the Oakland A’s regular second baseman. The move to join the Mets is curious, however, as the Mets have traded for Robinson Cano, have Todd Frazier at third base, have Jeff McNeil who is a 2B/3B, and Peter Alonso knocking at the door at first base.
