Is extra rest with six-man rotation always positive? The debate between Rangers' pitchers continues

SURPRISE, Ariz. - Results from other precincts on the issue of the Rangers' using a six-man rotation trickled in on Sunday.

Not everyone is as opposed to the idea as is Cole Hamels, the No. 1 starter.

Right-hander Doug Fister, who worked three sharp scoreless innings in the 10-7 loss to Seattle, is ambivalent but open-minded on the structure of the rotation. Left-hander Mike Minor is all for anything that provides extra rest.

The discussion will go on all spring, or at least until veteran Bartolo Colon weighs in with his endorsement.

"Baseball is not one of those sports that you're hard-line on about everything,'' manager Jeff Banister said.
