Instant replay and observations from the Rangers' 8-1 win over Oakland Sunday to finish off the first homestand of the year:
What you need to know: The Rangers may have a bunch of impending free agents, but they also have a very promising core of young position player talent. That was plainly evident during the first week of the season in which Rougned Odor, Joey Gallo and Nomar Mazara, all 23 or younger, combined for seven of the team's 11 home runs and drove in 22 of the team's 33 runs.
Dude of the day: Here's the kind of day Joey Gallo had: He hit a three-run homer and it wasn't his most impressive at-bat of the day.
