Instant replay and observations from the Rangers' 8-3 win over Los Angeles on Wednesday night in Anaheim, Calif.:
What you need to know: Jose Leclerc gave the beleaguered bullpen what it most needed - a shot of adrenaline. With the bullpen thin and rattled, Leclerc was called on the in the eighth inning to protect a lead while facing the two most dangerous hitters in the Los Angeles lineup. He overpowered Mike Trout with a 97 mph fastball on the first pitch, then fired back to back sliders that fooled Trout. He followed it by getting Albert Pujols to fly to shallow center field on the next pitch for an impressive four-pitch outing.
