I am still struggling to wrap my mind around the Texas Rangers signing Patrick Corbin.
And not just signing Patrick Corbin — signing Patrick Corbin to a major league deal. A minor league deal, of course, is insignificant. Johnny Cueto was signed to a minor league deal last season by the Rangers. Manny Ramirez was signed to a minor league deal by the Rangers once upon a time. There’s a whole passel of guys who are in camp on minor league deals right now, including Hunter Strickland, who was signed very recently, and who I’d just as soon never see in a Ranger uniform.
