The Rangers announced two injury blows Wednesday evening -- one potentially much more serious than the other.

Rangers designated hitter/first baseman Prince Fielder is facing season-ending neck surgery, according to the club. Fielder has a C4-C5 herniation in his neck, one vertebrae above where he had surgery in 2014, the club said during a conference call.
