The Texas Rangers have activated catcher Sam Huff from the 60 day injured list and have optioned him to AA Frisco. To make room for Huff on the 40 man roster, the Rangers have designated pitcher Tyler Phillips for assignment.
Huff underwent knee surgery in April, and has been on a rehab assignment the past couple of weeks, first with the Rangers’ complex league team, then with Frisco. He reportedly will be limited to first base and DH duties for the rest of the season.
The situation in Frisco is getting a little crowded, as Davis Wendzel, it was also announced today, has also returned to Frisco after rehabbing with the ACL Rangers.
