On his way to being voted into the Hall of Fame on Wednesday night, Vlad Guerrero changed the direction of the Texas Rangers.
Guerrero, near the end of an illustrious 16-year career, joined the Rangers for the 2010 season. At that moment, the self-image of a franchise that had won ONE playoff game in its history changed forevermore.
"He'd just gone done beating us as bad as you can beat somebody for six years," said Michael Young, who endured at an All-Star level through some dark seasons. "We knew what he could do. We knew he was a Hall of Famer.
