ANAHEIM, Calif. - The Rangers on Saturday won a game they had already lost.
That is neither a euphemism or hyperbole.
In the end, they got special starting pitching from Cole Hamels, continued lock-down relief work and a big hit with a runner in scoring position to take a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels in 10 innings.
It almost didn't matter because for a moment - actually 2:39 - the Rangers had lost the game 2-1 when the just-activated Carlos Tocci, inserted into the game specifically to run the bases, instead ran into what was ruled a game-ending double play.
