ARLINGTON - As much as Rougned Odor enjoys smacking home runs, winning a Gold Glove ranks atop his wish list.
“That’s always been my goal,’’ Odor said. “That’s what I want.”
It has become a more realistic goal this season.
Odor rightfully has gained attention for his offensive surge. He received his second American League player of the week award since the All-Star break on Monday for hitting four homers with 10 RBIs in the previous seven days.
“This is the player that we’ve seen before,’’ manager Jeff Banister said.
That included defense at second base, Banister added.
