DETROIT -There is absolutely not a shred of truth to the rumor a Rangers official got a new glove for Cole Hamels and was complimented for making a good trade.
Never happened.
It is true that Hamels’ trade value is dropping like a rock. The plunge continued on Saturday with one of the worst starts in Hamels’ career during a 7-2 loss to Detroit at Comerica Park.
For only the second time in 380 career starts, Hamels failed to finish the first inning. He got only two outs, allowed seven base-runners and departed with a 7-0 deficit.
