How Joey Gallo's new agent has chance to help Rangers, their third baseman and himself cash in big

FORT WORTH - To help himself and a new client, uber-agent Scott Boras could help the Rangers, too.

And Boras won't ask for a fee.

Joey Gallo, the Rangers' strikeout-plagued minor-league slugger, recently switched representation to Boras. That is a potentially significant move as the Rangers look for another bat.

Boras, like many agents, tries to help his clients develop. It is in his self-interest. The better the player performs, the richer his future contracts. The richer the contracts, the more valuable Boras' cut.

Boras' client list includes young hitters such as Washington's Bryce Harper and Kris Bryant of the Chicago Cubs.
