SEATTLE - Just in time for summer sequel season, the Rangers are getting ready to present Adrian Beltre: The Return.
It might not cause even a ripple at the box office but is likely to reverberate around the diamond.
Beltre, out since straining his hamstring on May 13, ran the bases Tuesday. Afterward, manager Jeff Banister proclaimed Beltre is "getting really close" to returning. The Rangers are likely to put him through another intense day on the field Wednesday and then make a decision.
What is certain, Banister said, is that when Beltre returns, he will have more starts at DH than previously.
