The Houston Astros have traded first baseman/DH Tyler White, who was designated for assignment earlier this week, to the Los Angeles Dodgers for pitcher Andre Scrubb, per reports on the Tweetbox.
White, 28, had an 888 OPS in 237 plate appearances for the Astros last year, but has struggled in 2019, putting up a .225/.320/.330 slash line in 253 plate appearances for the Astros this year.
Scrubb is a 24 year old righthanded pitcher who has worked mostly in relief this year for the AA Tulsa Drillers. He was an 8th round draft pick of the Dodgers out of High Point University in 2016.
