Houston Astros, Alex Bregman agree to $100M deal

The Houston Astros and infielder Alex Bregman have agreed to terms on a 6 year, $100 million contract, per multiple reports. The deal would cover the 2019, for which Bregman is already under contract, and the 2020-24 seasons, which would buy out a pair of free agency years,

Bregman, who turns 25 later this month, was the #2 selection in the 2015 draft, picked by the Astros with the compensation pick they received after not signing Brady Aiken the year before. Bregman, you may recall, was coveted by the Rangers, who took Dillon Tate at #4, in one of the more unfortunate draft episodes in Rangers history.
