SEATTLE -- Turns out the great mystery about the Rangers disappearing road offense isn't much of a mystery at all.
It's actually pretty simple.
You may be saying: Another story about the Rangers' road woes? Well, yes. Because talking about the offense beats talking about Thursday's MLB debut of Royce City's Taylor Hearn. The 24-year-old lefty, acquired from Pittsburgh last summer, managed to record just one out while throwing 39 pitches in his first start. He allowed four walks and a three-run double before being removed.
So, about that road offense. ...
On the road, particularly in AL West parks, the home run becomes a non-factor.
