The Baseball Writers Association of America has released the ballot for the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame voting, so are doing polls on the players on the list.
Today is outfielder Ichiro Suzuki.
Ichiro Suzuki debuted for the Orix Blue Wave in the JPL in 1992, as an 18 year old. He became a regular in 1994 and immediately established himself as one of Japan’s biggest stars, hitting for a high average, stealing a lot of bases, and wielding a cannon of an arm in right field.
When he was posted by the Blue Wave after the 2000 season, the Seattle Mariners paid a $13 million posting fee to land him — an amount seen at the time as being outlandishly high.
