The Baseball Writers Association of America has released the ballot for the 2025 Baseball Hall of Fame voting, so are doing polls on the players on the list.
Today is reliever Fernando Rodney.
Fernando Rodney was signed by the Detroit Tigers out of the Dominican Republic in November, 1997. At the time he was signed, it was believed he was 16 years old, but it turned out he was actually 20 years old, as he was one of the players whose birth dates were determined to be incorrect.
He made it to the majors in 2002 at the age of 25 (though he was thought at the time to be just 20) with the Tigers, pitched poorly in 2002 and 2003, and then missed 2004 due to injury.
