OAKLAND, Calif. - The Rangers started another educational experience on Monday night.
The lesson?
How to avoid being lambs led to slaughter.
The Rangers opened a three-game series against white-hot Oakland at The Coliseum. The Athletics have muscled their way into contention in the American League West and the wild-card race by going 40-14 since June 14.
That included a four-game sweep of the Rangers at Globe Life Park last month. Oakland was 12 games better than the Rangers since mid-June.
The Rangers have six of their last 36 games against the Athletics, all at The Coliseum.
