The Texas Rangers have activated Jonah Heim from the paternity list and recalled pitcher Yerry Rodriguez from AAA Round Rock. To make room for the pair on the active roster, the Rangers have optioned catcher Sam Huff and pitcher Cole Winn to Round Rock.
Shrug.
Heim was expected back today, and he is back. Huff came up to be the backup catcher while Heim was out, and now he’s back at Round Rock.
As for Winn, he came up to give the Rangers an extra arm in the pen. He’s been used in that role and likely wouldn’t be available tonight, and thus now Yerry Rodriguez is up as the extra arm.
