ARLINGTON, Texas -- Josh Hamilton had arthroscopic surgery to repair a slight meniscus tear in his left knee, and there is still a chance the Texas Rangers slugger could play again this season.

The Rangers said there was optimism for a quick recovery but no timetable for Hamilton's return.
