NEW YORK -- Rangers first baseman Ronald Guzman became the first rookie with a three-homer game against the Yankees on Friday night.
Guzman hit his first two solo shots against New York starter Masahiro Tanaka, then added a third bases-empty blast against reliever A.J. Cole. It's Texas' first three-homer game since Adrian Beltre did it against the Orioles on Aug. 22, 2012.
Guzman homered in the fourth, sixth and seventh innings, giving him 12 home runs this season. They are his first since a grand slam against the Orioles on July 15 right before the All-Star break.
