Texas Rangers starting pitchers Jon Gray and Tyler Mahle are done for the 2024 season, per Bruce Bochy (via the beats).
Gray is dealing with a foot injury known as a neuroma, which is apparently the thickening of the tissue around one of the nerves in your foot, leading to pain, stinging, numbness, and the like. This is a new one for me.
Mahle, meanwhile, has been dealing with shoulder soreness which landed him on the injured list after he had made just three starts in the majors for the Rangers this year. He had missed the first half of the season due to recovery from 2023 Tommy John surgery.
