SURPRISE, Ariz. - The one small flaw in the Rangers' otherwise brilliant plan to preserve Josh Hamilton's health by managing his playing time more was exposed Monday.
And that is this: Quite simply, it's almost impossible to have any kind of expectations for Hamilton's availability any more. His body is that unpredictable.
Hamilton, who has had two knee surgeries since September, left camp before an official full-squad workout to meet with an orthopedist from Dr. James Andrews' clinic in Alabama. Technically, he's seeking a "second opinion," on the left knee. The question: What was the first opinion?
