Grant: After exhausting all their options, Rangers bench struggling Prince Fielder for Jurickson Profar

ARLINGTON - The Rangers have tried everything they can to get Prince Fielder going with the bat.

Now, they will try without it.

That was the club's answer Saturday on how to handle a roster with too many productive middle infielders and too few productive sluggers. When Rougned Odor returned from his seven-game suspension, he reclaimed his position. Hot Jurickson Profar slid over to DH Saturday. And Fielder, hitting .187 and with just one homer in nearly seven weeks, went to the bench. Hanser Alberto, who had been the utility player, was optioned to Round Rock.

Fielder is expected to get at least two days off, perhaps more, to clear his head.
