ARLINGTON -- The A's continued their recent mastery against the Rangers with a 4-1 victory in the opener of a four-game, season-ending series at Globe Life Park on Thursday night. Texas lost its seventh game in a row.
The A's have won seven straight games against the Rangers, their longest winning streak against them since a seven-game streak in 2005. Oakland is two games behind Texas for fourth place in the American League West.
A fourth-inning leadoff home run by Matt Chapman (2-for-3 with two RBIs) and a two-run single by Ryon Healy in the fifth helped A's starter Sean Manaea notch his 12th win.
