The Boston Red Sox and free agent pitcher Lucas Giolito have agreed to terms on a two year, $38.5 million deal, per multiple reports.
This is a rather impressive haul for Giolito — even moreso given that he has an opt out after 2024. Giolito receives $18 million for 2024, gets a $1 million buyout if he opts out, receives a $19 million salary for 2025, and has a $1.5 million buyout on either a $14 million 2026 club option (if he throws less than 140 innings in 2025) or a $19 million mutual option.
The 29 year old Giolito has put up a 4.
